# Connect WhatsApp

> Connect a WhatsApp Business phone number through Meta and verify messages in Jaaxis.

Connect a WhatsApp Business phone number to one Jaaxis agent through Meta's sign-in flow. You do not paste an access token into Jaaxis.

## Before you begin

Use an account that can manage the intended WhatsApp Business account and phone number. Complete any phone-ownership verification requested by Meta. This flow does not support onboarding a number still using the WhatsApp Business App; do not assume the same number can be used in both.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start the connection">
    Open the agent's **Connect** page and select **WhatsApp → Connect**. Allow the Meta sign-in window to open.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete Meta signup">
    Sign in to the authorized Meta account, choose the intended business account and phone number, and complete the requested verification and permissions. Keep the Jaaxis page open until the flow returns.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the connected number">
    Open **WhatsApp → Manage**. Confirm the business name, phone number, and **Connected** badge match your intended account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test customer messages">
    Send a test message from another WhatsApp account to that number. Open **Inbox** and confirm the incoming message and agent response. Pause the agent, send a human reply, and verify receipt on the customer side before resuming.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Reply limits and maintenance

When Jaaxis shows the Meta 24-hour reply-window notice, follow the channel guidance instead of repeatedly retrying. See [Human replies](/en/inbox/human-replies).

Use **Manage** to inspect the connection or disconnect it. Disconnecting stops this agent from using the connection; verify the intended agent and number first.

If signup fails, confirm that Meta verification finished, the number belongs to the selected business account, and browser pop-ups are allowed. Never send credentials or verification codes to support.
